Allow me the pleasure of announcing that CLAW Emergence Book 2: Into Daylight is finally available! (https://katieberry.ca/claw-emergence-book-2-into-daylight). I apologise for the delay, but believe you will think it worth the wait. We are now two-thirds of the way through the trilogy, and I believe it is shaping up to be a great ride for those of you who don’t mind a little history with your horror.
And with all the hustle and bustle of getting my latest release out the door, I have neglected the monthly book draw and update. As a bonus for those you who haven’t jumped into the prequel series, Emergence Book 1: From the Shadows, in on sale for .99 cents at Amazon.com in the USA for a limited time, so now would be a great time to check into this very entertaining series if you haven’t already. For those of you who’ve read CLAW Resurgence, there are some bits and pieces scattered throughout the three Emergence novels for your elucidation and edification, things that play into the the larger CLAW/Abandoned universe.
Without further ado, I will draw the winners’ names in the monthly audiobook/paperback contest. The prize of an audiobook of their choice goes to: itseybitsey@XXXXXX.com. And the autographed paperback of their choice will be getting mailed to: pja.frog@XXXXXX.com.
Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement over the last few months. It has been tough getting things done with such a hole in my life after my beloved cat went missing. I have never experienced anything like it over the many years have been a pet parent, and cannot imagine how it must be for someone when it’s their child or loved one who goes missing instead. And as so many have observed, not knowing what happened is the hardest part. Though I hope for the best, wherever Mimsie is now, she will always have a home in my heart.

Currently, I am working on updating all of my previous novels with my newest book’s information and prepping things for CLAW Emergence Book 3: Return to Darkness, coming this fall. I am also working on something I have long promised and under-delivered: free short stories for my Katie Berry Books Insiders newsletter subscribers. Some might be a little slice of life in Lawless where one of the characters has something odd happen to them (as things are prone to go in Lawless). Or it might be more of a deleted scene where you can see what happened to another character while something major to the plot occurred in the original CLAW or ABANDONED novel. Alternatively, I have toyed with the idea of a ‘Short Stories from the Sinclair’ series with a peek at some of the unknown horrors lurking behind the mirrors. So stay tuned to this newsletter for further info on some of those stories in the near future.
In a final bit of news, I am celebrating my birthday tomorrow. Curious as I always am, I decided to see how many people celebrate their birthday, statistically speaking, on the fourth of July. Not that many, it seems. Just a little over 8,000 each year, in fact. Next to Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day, July 4th is the next least popular day to be born. But I am okay with that distinction and take it as a badge of honour, along with being a blue-eyed, left-handed horror/sci-fi/paranormal author.
That’s it for me for this month. I hope the rest of this summer is a pleasant one for you all (except for those of you south of the equator where the reverse would be true, and I hope your winter is lovely and mild). Take care, my friends, and I will visit your inbox again in August.
Good health and great reads to you all,
-Katie Berry
