Welcome to November, the ninth month of the year!

Well, at least it was in Ancient Rome. Back in the day, there were only ten months and just 304 days in the calendar year. And many were named after what number they were. November actually comes from the Latin word Novem, which means nine. October was the eighth month (Octo), and December (Decem) was the tenth. January and February were added to the beginning several decades later by the second king of Rome, Numa Pompilius, to better align with the lunar calendar and to further confuse the populace.
Why am I talking about calendars, you might ask? Well, because sometimes, even twelve months in a year are not enough to get things done. And though I work as fast and efficiently as I can, things sometimes just get behind schedule.
And that is the case with CLAW Emergence Book 3: Return to Darkness. As some of you are aware, I was aiming for a Halloween release, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards at the moment. But don’t worry, there’s some good news to go with the bad news. The good news is that Book 3 is now complete, it is in post-production, and things are going very well.

I am sorry if this is a disappointment, but some things take more time than others, and the estimated release dates I put in the back of my books are only that, estimates. With that said, I am hoping to have Return to Darkness in your hands by early December.
This month I will keep things brief since I am hard at work as I mentioned and I will get right to the monthly prize giveaways. First up, the winner of an autographed Katie Berry paperback of their choice is jbangellwriter@XXXXXX.com. The winner of an audiobook of their choice is:
tinnaw69@XXXXXX.com. And the FIVE winners of an audiobook of CLAW Emergence Book 2: Into Daylight are: texgrebneroutdoors@XXXXXX.com, jobierle@XXXXXX.com, karenhillas7@XXXXXX.com, katkarstedt@XXXXXX.com, jonys@XXXXXX.com.
That is it for this month, my friends. I will be back next month with a more precise release date for Book 3. Till then, here’s a bonus to keep you going, my very first six-word story (it’s a thing, look it up): The AI seemed friendly. It wasn’t.
Good health and great reads,
-Katie B
