It’s Groundhog Day, again.

I have always enjoyed this little seasonal holiday, even before Bill Murray and Harold Ramis made it famous in 1992. Though Lively didn’t experience events as repetitively as Bill did, some of the ‘guests’ at the Sinclair Resort certainly did. And speaking of which, the audiobook of ABANDONED Book 4: Deception and Deliverance is due to be released on ALL audiobook platforms on March 14th, once again thanks to my partnership with Tantor Media. It is read by the one and only voice of Katie Berry Books, the talented Mr. Alex Knox. For those of you curious, Lively and Minerva will be revisiting the Sinclair Hotel in 2024 and when that happens, who knows what might result (well, I suppose I might have an idea).

Please Bear With Me

The month of January was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me this year. Things started off on a high note and I was supposed to have my second hip replacement take place on the sixth. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to a lack of beds at the local hospital and was deferred until January 20th. Things went well on that attempt (obviously, since I am writing this) and I am healing now and getting stronger each day. Thank’s so much for everyone’s well wishes, they have been something which have brightened and energized my recovery immensely.

Just a little bit more news from the Hollywood side of things, CLAW: The Movie is still in the works. I recently heard some encouraging news regarding its production which I hope to share by next month’s newsletter, or sooner, hopefully. So stay tuned.

I won’t make this too long since I need to get back to polishing my addition to the new western horror anthology helmed by B.L. Blankenship, Shut Up and Bleed. It’s an engaging little tale which I hope you’ll check out when the book is released this spring. There are many other excellent writers involved in the project and I will share more information about the release date when I receive it. My short story, if you are curious, is something I would liken to Little House on the Prairie meets Quentin Tarantino. I will let your imagination take it from there.

On to the winners of January’s audiobook and paperback draw. This month, the audiobook goes to: Kemrawlins60@xxxxxx.com. And the autographed paperback is going out to: A.forli@xxxxxx.com. Congratulations to you both! Check your junk mail folders just in case your email from me slipped through the cracks. As I mention in each monthly email, like a little broken record, if you want to ensure prompt notification of any prizes won, please make sure you put katie@katieberry.ca on your ‘nice’ email list.

That’s it for now. Thanks so much for being a Katie Berry Books Insider. As I mentioned earlier, your support and encouragement has been phenomenal and it is something that spurs me onward every day as I write. I hope your Day of the Groundhog is a good one tomorrow, and if it does happen to repeat on you, make the most of the extra time and catch up on some of your reading (that’s what I would do at least). If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me at katie@katieberry.ca. I love hearing from you and personally respond to each and every email I receive.

Good health and great reads to you all,

-Katie Berry
