The dog days of summer are upon us, at least here in most of the Northern Hemisphere. Temperatures have been breaking new highs in the Southern Interior where I live, And once again, the forests of British Columbia and Alberta are ablaze and tens of thousands of people have been displaced.

A couple of years ago, Castlegar was threatened with the possibility of evacuation, but fortunately, the brave firefighters of the Southeast Fire Centre saved us from disaster. Last year the Orchard City, Kelowna, suffered some loss, but nothing on the scale that has happened to Jasper Alberta this year. Thankfully, just this morning, Castlegar received some brief, but lovely rain showers (the kind without thunder and lightning, which is wonderful) and I hope that trend continues into a nice rainy fall.
Through all of this, I have been hard at work to bring you CLAW Resurrection. Post-production is still going well, and the end is in sight (more on that below). As I believe I mentioned last news letter, Resurrection should be out in late summer. That is still the case. But as you might know, if you are on my side of the equator, summer extends to midnight, September 21st. Now, don’t panic; I plan on having Resurrection in front of your eyeballs before that, I am just not sure what day exactly. So I will just say, when it’s done, it’s done. I won’t beat the Almaden Wine analogy to death anymore (this year).
I aim to give you the best reading experience I can give you and pour heart and soul into each and every novel I write. Judging by the emails and messages I receive from around the world on an almost daily basis, it seems you appreciate that. And so, to everyone who has written to me expressing their thanks and enjoyment, thank you! I am truly grateful my stories have entertained and thrilled you, and perhaps provided a chuckle or two along the way as well.
Though there are some who will be disappointed that Resurrection is not coming in August, please recall that I am a one-person artisan operation. Each novel you read is carefully handcrafted by me, and only me. There is no AI involved, just 100% pure Katie Berry and CLAW Resurrection is no different.
If you’ve been receiving my Insider Newsletters for a while, you know I do play around with AI art to create entertaining imaginings of my novels and scenes therein, but it stops there. There will never be any AI between the pages of a Katie Berry novel. And for those curious about my recent covers, they are created using a variety of tools and image sources, but when it comes to bringing the final vision of my novel’s covers together, I go with tried and trusted Adobe Photoshop.
CLAW Resurrection will be, I believe, everything that you have enjoyed from CLAW and Resurgence, along with the Emergence prequel series (which I suggest you read if you haven’t already since it ties into Resurrection). As well, Resurrection will set up the fourth novel in the present day series, CLAW Retribution, coming fall 2025. Retribution will be a crossover, as I have mentioned previously, with Lively Deadmarsh and sister Minerva making an appearance.
Remember when I mentioned In ABANDONED Book 3 about the adventure Minerva had at the Slaughtered Sheep in Dublin, Ireland? And the cruise that Lively was on that he would never forget? Well, those events will be covered in Lively and Minerva’s next standalone novel, BESIEGED, the second in the Deadmarsh series coming early spring 2025. This novel will act as a prequel to ABANDONED, taking place just before Lively and Minerva’s investigation of the Sinclair Resort Hotel. In addition, Beseiged will also provide backstory into new mysteries and surprises which you will read about in the next novel in the Deadmarsh series, ABANDONED II: Continuum coming in 2026.
I know it’s a little much to take in right now, but trust me, it will all make sense, eventually. And I will keep the Berryverse graphic updated for those of you curious about how all this fits together.

Thank you so much, Jim. So far, so good. Let’s hope the air clears soon.
A due date should be seen as a goal post, not a Commandment. Life happens. Fans of your books appreciate your care to story. 🌼
Thank you, Sherry! I really appreciate your understanding. I just want to make it the best it can be.
I’m soo excited about The next book coming out of the Abanded series I honestly have never read a better series! I recommend it to everyone . Keep up the great work your amazing writer
Wow, thank you, Bernadette! I think you will enjoy BESIEGED with Lively and Minerva next spring, and ABANDONED II: Continuum is going to be a lot of fun (I have so many ideas; it might be a multi-part series as well).
