September, October’s Less Horrific Cousin

Ah, September! One of my favourite times of the year, next to October, that is. July and August this year were much better than last here in the West Kootenays. No fires threatened to burn my little town down around my ears like last year, so that is always a good thing. I hope the rest of you have all had a pleasant summer as well, for those of your north of the equator that experiences it at such. As for for my friends south of the equator, I hope the winter wasn’t too wet or dry for you, depending on where you live.

Things are moving along nicely with the CLAW Emergence series. I had the opportunity to do quite a bit of research on old west BC during the summer, and I will try to use this information to make the upcoming Emergence series as authentic and exhilarating as possible. Some of that research involved some hikes in the forest, and if you haven’t checked out some of the shots I took in my adventures, you really should, since it will give you a feel for what the Kootenays look like in the summertime, when Emergence is set. Though the town of Lawless is fictional, I think you will enjoy the characters of Kitty Welch and Caleb Cantrill as much as those of Austin Murphy and Christine Moon in the present-day CLAW series. I will try my best to make them as believable and interesting as I can, just like the monsters. Speaking of which, here’s one of them now…

Snake-thing looking for a riverside dinner near Lawless

The above shot is just a little something else to whet your appetite, a shot of one of the snake-like creatures that Caleb encounters in the cavern. Eventually, this beast finds itself swimming and slithering through the Kokanee River near Lawless looking for its next meal. This picture and the one below were all created by me through AI (Artificial Intelligence) art-bots, one of my latest interests, so I hope you like them.

Winner Time!

As usual, we have two more winners this month, one for an autographed novel and one for an audiobook. So, moving right along, I will announce them right here: The Audiobook winner is: stephen.bernat3@XXXXXX.com, and the Paperback goes to: andersonvicki54@XXXXXX.net. Congratulations to you both, I hope you enjoy your prizes!

Speaking of contests, the contest to find the MOST easter eggs in the ABANDONED series is still open until the end of September. Can you spot the most film, TV and music references in the four novels? If you can, you will win a COMPLETE AUTOGRAPHED SET of the ABANDONED books for your home library mailed directly to your door.
