October Winner’s Circle and other stuff!

Hello everybody!

I’d like to announce our three lucky winners for the month of October.

They are, in no particular order:

Audiobook: fdmack.1971@XXXXXX.com
Paperback: Galaxyspacepurple13@XXXXXX.com
Halloween Draw WInner: Dixiedee1953@XXXXXX.com

Thanks so much to everyone that entered, and a great big Katie Berry Books welcome to all of our new subscribers this month!

It has been a busy month and also one of my favourite months. Falling leaves, crisp days and the smell of woodsmoke from fireplaces filling the chilly air are such a welcome change from the heat of summer, aren’t they? Unless you live in the southern half of the world, that is. 🙂

I’m sure that many of you who have Netflix have been watching some of Squid Game, amongst other things. I’m almost to the end of season one and find myself transfixed by this wildly original and brutal television series from South Korea. I also managed to catch ‘Old’, M. Night Shyamalan’s latest, an enjoyable little tale of suspense and surprise and time. If you haven’t had a chance to check those titles out yourself, you should. And if there is something else exciting out there that you have stumbled across, feel free to drop me a line and let me know about it. I am always looking for those hidden gems in the horror-thriller genre, such as one of my favourite indie horror flicks, ‘It Follows’.

In the reading world, I am almost finished ‘The Bazaar of Bad Dreams’ before moving on to ‘If It Bleeds’ and ‘The Institue’, amongst other titles. Yes, I have been lax with Mr. King’s latest crop of goodies, but am finally getting a chance to enjoy them, and they are as entertaining as I expected, of course. And if you have found something intriguing, please let me know, as I always love to hear from my readers.

ABANDONED Book 3 is coming along very nicely! I must apologise for not making the delivery date that I had envisioned, but as I mentioned last month, due to my surgery in the summer, I am behind schedule by about a month. Hopefully, you’ll have the novel in your hands by the end of this month. A cover reveal should be happening in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned to your inbox for another email blast at that time.

Thank you all so much. I am honoured that so many of you have trusted me with your email addresses. Your support allows me to do what I love each and every day, writing more stories for you (and me) to enjoy.

Take care, my friends. Good health and great reads to you all,

-Katie Berry

  1. Hi, Katie. Hope you’re doing well. Happy Fall! I am so excited for Abandoned book 3 😁
You mentioned recommendations for books or movies, I have several, “The Other People” by C.J. Tudor, and a movie that you will not forget and will leave you completely mind blown, well, it did me, “Malignant”. There are so many other great reads and movies to recommend that I could go one for two paragraphs. I’ve recently read Stephen King’s “Doctor Sleep”, it was well worth the time! Waaay better than the movie, so if you haven’t watched the movie, DON’T, read the book instead, and/or/both Audible it.
Happy writings and a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

    1. Hi Kelly,

Thank you, and a happy fall to you. ABANDONED Book 3 is coming along well (it is finished!), I am hoping for release by the end of November once the final polish is done. I will check out your recommendations. I actually saw Doctor Sleep in the theatre when it was released, but haven’t yet read the book, though it is on my list (I am rereading The Shining right now before doing so). I am currently listening to The Institute on Audible which is quite gripping. I will be sure to check out Malignant since James Wan’s stuff is always so good. And The Other People sounds intriguing as well. Thanks for reaching out and for the recommendations. Have an excellent Thanksgiving and all the best to you and yours over the holiday season as well.
