I just thought I would drop a quick note to tell you that ABANDONED Book 2 is on track for a Mid-may release (details coming soon). I realise many of you have questions after Book 1, and fortunately, some of them will be answered, but new mysteries will arise as well.
Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed ABANDONED Book1, and thank you also for the fabulous reviews! I am so glad that everyone seems to enjoy the first novel in the series, almost.
Unfortunately, it seems a few people out there don’t understand that a multi-part series does not answer all of the questions in the first book. That would be the equivalent of watching a limited-run miniseries like The Stand on Amazon Prime and having every single question answered in the first episode. Would you feel the desire to watch any more of that series if that were the case?
So, to the people that don’t like multi-part book series, I have to say I am genuinely sorry for your loss, but ABANDONED is a four-part series, and I cannot answer all the questions in the first book. In fact, an engaging first book should fill you full of questions for the upcoming books, which I think Book 1 succeeds in doing.
If you’ve read this far, thank you for that, and also thank you for reading my novels (and if you haven’t, you really should). Entertaining you with my stories (and myself, since I write what I’d like to read) is my reason to get up each and every day, and go to my faithful Mac Mini with a smile on my face so that I may craft more intriguing tales for you to enjoy. Thank you so very much, one and all.

Don’t fret! The second book will be out very soon…
July, 2021. Dear Ms. Berry. I am loving the Lively Deadmarsh books and am very glad to see that you have more planned. Although I am not a big detective-fare fan, I found your two books (so far) to be as engaging and thoroughly enjoyable as Preston & Childs Agent Pendergast series. I could easily become a very big Deadmarsh fan and look forward to further entries for this brother and sister team. I do not believe I would like them as well as stand alone characters, but together they are enchanting. Please keep them coming.
Thank you for the lovely compliment, Jeannine! Your input is greatly appreciated and I always enjoy hearing from my readers. I will have Lively and Minerva do their best to keep you enchanted. 🙂
