To the Berryverse and Beyond!

Hello, my friends!

Today, I’d like to dive into the interconnectedness of my universe—the Berryverse, as it were. Whether you’ve read all of the Abandoned series, the Claw series, or the Emergence series, each story is a piece of the larger mystery. And with that being the case, I thought a bit of a suggested reading order might be helpful for those of you just joining the Berryverse or even for longtime readers who may have missed a book here and there. The Interconnected Berryverse

If you want a full picture of everything that happens in the Berryverse, you need to read all my novels. I am not just saying that to boost sales; there are numerous Easter eggs and cross-references sprinkled throughout my novels. The ABANDONED series has ties to the Claw series, and vice versa. This interconnection is especially true in the Claw: Emergence series, and brings me to another point: I realise some of you might be reluctant to read that series since it’s set in the past, but if you have enjoyed my other novels, then trust me, you will enjoy all three novels of Emergence. They contain even more gripping characters, gold, greed and, of course, monsters from out of time. All three are recommended reading to get the most out of CLAW Resurrection, coming this summer. 

Recommended Reading Order

Below is my recommended sequence to fully enjoy the Berryverse. Of course, you can enjoy each series on its own without ever reading the other, but reading them all in the recommended order will provide a richer, more nuanced experience. Let me add here that for those who prefer to stick with the CLAW series you won’t miss out on major plot points by not reading the Abandoned series. However, if you join Lively and Minerva in their adventure at the Sinclair Resort Hotel, you’ll gain extra insight into the bigger picture of the Berryverse.

Sorry to be beating a dead horse, so to speak, but if you’ve read any of my books and haven’t left a review on Amazon after doing so, I would greatly appreciate it if you did. CLAW: Resurrection Update

Progress on CLAW: Resurrection is coming along nicely, and it is finally in post-production. Though I initially promised a late spring release, it now looks like it will be mid-summer. Writing Resurrection has been more involved than expected, so I appreciate your patience, and I believe it will be worth it once you start turning the pages. I realise I am usually not quite on the mark regarding release dates, and I apologise for that again and will point to my Almaden wine analogy. Please rest assured, as a Katie Berry Insider Subscriber you will be notified first upon its release.

Be Still My Beating Heart

While writing the end of Claw: Resurrection, I was finishing a tense chapter about creepy creatures in darkened caverns when one of my earrings fell off and landed on my shoulder. Well, let me tell you, I have never jumped so high! I thought something from one of my stories had manifested in the real world for a moment and had come to pay me a visit. I must say, I am glad I don’t have a weak heart, or I wouldn’t be here writing this now. Just one of the many hazards of being a thriller writer, I suppose.
