January has been an incredible blur. I don’t know where it’s gone. I’ve checked in the cupboards, under the couch, behind the door and I can’t find any more of it. I suppose keeping busy helps things fly by. And that is something I have been, working away on Claw Resurrection, and things are going well–I think it’s going to be a worthy addition to the CLAW universe.
Speaking of claws, Nibbler is doing quite well. He’s now seven months old and growing like a weed. Apparently, at the end of his first year in June, he’ll be the equivalent of about fifteen human years in age. I used to believe it was five cat years for every human year, but it seems their initial maturation is much quicker than I had realised. He’s gone from the equivalent of diapers to driving so quickly it’s making me feel old, more so than my twenty-year-old son already does. But that’s okay, like my own son, the joy my little ball of fluff brings is well worth the price of admission.
But something that never grows old is my love of food. I’ve been indulging in my passion for books recently, except at the moment, they’re cookbooks. Instant Pot meals, crockpot dump-and-run dinners and delectable desserts have been among some of the recent purchases now residing on my tablet. Now, it’s just a matter of finding time to cook all the tasty treats inside their pages.
As I’ve been cooking up a storm I’ve been checking out season two of Reacher, The Omega Man, the original Planet of the Apes (yes, I seem to have a Chuck Heston thing going at the moment), and Into the Night with Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Pfeiffer (an 80’s classic). On the horror front, I have been enjoying more recent scares with No One Will Save You and The Last Voyage of the Demeter, both very gripping and engaging movies. If you haven’t checked them out, you should.
Speaking of Reacher, I had a fan write me that they thought Alan Ritchson would make a wonderful Lively Deadmarsh for a film adaptation of ABANDONED, should it occur (fingers crossed that all goes well with CLAW: The Movie). I agree he would be a good fit for the role, but can you think of any others? Some great choices could be Chris Hemsworth, Alexander Skarsgard or perhaps Ryan Gosling.
Well, those are enough casting conundrums for now, since we have come to the giveaway part of the newsletter. There are two more lucky winners, as there are every month. A copy of an autographed Katie Berry novel of their choice delivered to their door goes to: julie.jessup@XXXXXX.com. And a Katie Berry audiobook of their choice goes to: penbaycolleen@XXXXXX.com. Congratulations to you both!
That’s it for now. Let’s hope we see an early spring during tomorrow’s Groundhog Day shenanigans. Take care until March, when I’ll be back with more news, updates and winners.
Good health and great reads,
-Katie Berry
