This month, I want to share some updates on the movie adaptation of CLAW: A Canadian Thriller. First of all, I recently had the option agreement renewed and the project is very much alive and they are still in the process of finding a production company to bring it to the big screen. I chatted with the executive in charge of overseeing the project, and I can reveal that a script has been written, though I wasn’t involved in its creation. This situation is quite positive. The movie is still being actively pitched, and the team behind it love the project as much as you and I do. Promising stuff, indeed.
And now, let’s talk about CLAW Resurrection. As you might be aware, it is the third novel in the present-day CLAW series and the tenth novel I have written overall. Every novel is connected in one way or another (as you will see in the Berryverse graphic in one of my previous posts: https://katieberry.ca/the-order-of-the-berryverse-explained/). Resurrection is now in the final stages of post-production, and I will be putting it up for preorder before the end of this month with a release date, I promise, before Christmas. Since the novel is set at that festive time of the year, I can’t think of a better time for you to enjoy it!
I am looking forward to writing many, many more novels in the future, and I hope you’ll come along on that journey with me. Part of this journey, for me, is one of gratitude. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you for your belief and support through reading my novels. What was once only a dream of mine now dwells in the imaginations of each and every one of you. There are tens of thousands of Trips and Livelys, Jerrys and Christines, Austins and Minervas out there, each unique to you and unlike any others. The same goes for the Anguses, the crawlers, the sabre cats, the black water beasts and the obsidian stones; they’re all now part of your internal movie theatre, playing out the story as I unfold it for you and hopefully keeping you well entertained.
Let me assure you, there is nothing I’d rather do for a living from now until I’m ninety-nine and beyond (and I have many decades left before I get there, so don’t worry). And in all that time, I’ll write for you the best story I can, aiming to give you the most bang for your literary buck—and hopefully, more than you could ever have imagined.
Also, I want to be clear: I couldn’t have done any of this without you. So, thank you for trusting me with what little spare time you have in your busy life. Keeping you entertained is not something I take lightly, and I always ensure each and every novel I write is one you don’t want to end, where you’re tempted to read just one more short chapter before bed or to save those last few pages because you don’t want the story to end. Trust me, I know that feeling as a longtime fan of horror in all its shapes and forms.
Since you are already a Katie Berry Book Insider (and if you’re not, now’s the perfect time to join: https://katieberry.ca/become-a-katie-berry-books-insider-and-win/), I have two gifts as a special thank you for your cohttps://katieberry.ca/free-short-stories/ntinuing support. That’s it for this month. Next month, the preorder goes live for CLAW Resurrection, and I look forward to sharing more information about my other upcoming projects.
Good health and great reads,
-Katie B
