Comfort and Joy From Space?

Yes, my cats can ride motorcycles.

Comfort and Joy are two words that seem synonymous with Christmas. However, they are also words that I use to describe two individuals who bring me exactly that each day: my cats, Nibbler and Fry.

As you can see in the photo, I have been having a little fun with ChatGPT. What started as a simple picture of my two boys on their cat tree became an exciting movie poster. They cuddle with me each night, one on each side, and thus the title of this faux movie (and they look good in leather jackets, too, I must say).

These two fluffballs lift my spirits daily. Whether they’re wrestling each other on the stairs, playing king of the castle in the cat tree penthouse, or hopping onto the desk mid-sentence and requesting playtime, they always make me laugh and smile. On darker days (of which I’ve had a few lately), they bring me the kind of comfort and joy only a warm purr and a head-bonk or two can deliver.

Katie ‘Leela’ Berry

Before I forget, I don’t think I’ve properly introduced my newest little guy, Fry. An orange bundle of mischief and affection, he came into my life as a gift from my son. Fry was originally named Loaf, but that is now his middle name. With his red hair and dashing good looks, I thought he should be named after another Futurama favourite of mine, Philip J. Fry. The good news is that Nibbler is only a year older than Fry, so they are quite good friends already. And yes, I suppose this makes me Leela, though I don’t pilot a spaceship at the moment.

So with the confusion of a holiday-themed newsletter title out of the way, and enough cat love to choke a mule, on to other things of interest, namely CLAW Resurrection. Things are going well, and post-production is now more than halfway finished. Thankfully, after everything that has happened in the last six months, I am finally getting my groove back in regard to writing (or is it my mojo?). I’m still not back to full speed, but things are progressing nicely. If it all continues smoothly, I’m aiming to publish Resurrection before my birthday in July and hope to announce the official release date in the next newsletter!

The book you know you want to read, you just don’t know when…

And that’s about all I’ll share today. You have places to be, things to do, and I have worlds I need to write. So without further ado, the winner of this month’s audiobook is: mgalka@XXXXXX.net. And the free autographed paperback goes to: maxine.everiss1@XXXXXX.com. Big congratulations to you both, and I hope you enjoy your prizes.

Remember, you can’t win if you aren’t a newsletter subscriber. You can join here to get in on the monthly fun: https://katieberry.ca/become-a-katie-berry-books-insider-and-win/

That’s it for this month. As usual, I wish you good health and great reads.
